Assisted Stretching (Stretching with a Partner)

1 1/2 – Hour Workshop

If you workout with a partner, you may want to attend this workshop.  Stretching with a partner allows you to effectively stretch out areas where you are chronically tight.  PNF has long been recognized as an effective way to make stretching gains fast.  AIS is the latest rage in stretching and is now being used in high level sports.
(Loose fitting clothing required i.e. track pants or workout gear)

 

This workshop covers:
  • The basics of stretching- concepts and theories
  • Stretching dos and don’ts
  • Using a partner to isolate muscle groups and facilitate muscle release using
    • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitaion (PNF Stretching) (It’s much easier than it sounds!)
    • Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) A completely new concept in stretching
  • Step by step coverage of all muscle groups using hands-on demonstrations
  • Handouts on stretching specific muscle groups
  • Suggested resources & websites for stretching
